OCC Lip Tar experiment

I've finally found OCC Lip Tars in Hong Kong! So I finally got to try it. Everyone was so hyped when it first came out, and I've heard many good things about this product. Most blogger clams that the OCC Lip tar was one of the best lip product. So I thought, if it's really that long lasting and amazing, why not do an experiment on it?

I have very high expectation on this products, as I am a huge fan of long lasting lip wears.
My Lip tar was in Vintage, a deep brownish red with a hint of purple.

I've applied my Lip Tar with a Make Up For Ever lip brush.

Tip: If you want a clean and crisp line, close your lips together and smile, put your brush at the edge of the lips and glide the products down.

Step 2: Apply a small amount of concealer around the lips to clean it up, then blend the edge of the concealer.
*Don't forget the corners of the lips!

When I first apply it onto my lips, the first thing that i've notice was that the Lip Tar was very concentrated and pigmented, "a little goes a long way". Since Vintage is such a dark color, it was a bit hard to get the color blend evenly at first. The Lip Tar is indeed very light weight but generally when you apply a regular lip stick with a lip brush it feels lighter.

This was how I look after wearing this for an hour. This was taken before I had lunch with Ryosa.

This is how my lips looks like after the soup, it is a bit worn off at the center of the lips but that is very normal, it happens to every lip product, but because this shade is very dark so it looks obvious. Nothing really bad happened at this point.

This was how I look after having my lunch, as you can tell that a lot of colors was worn off and it you look closely you can see little lines coming out from the edge of my lips. It was 3pm and I've touched up for the first time.
THis was how I look at 6:30, 6 hours throughout the day. I've touched up for the second time before taking this shot. The Lip Tar worn off again and it was bleeding at the edge of my lips. At this point I can see pieces of dried skin on my lower lip.

So I've been wearing this for 11 hours and this is how I look by the end of the day, taken at 11pm. It looks fine in a far away distance.

But when you take a closer look at this, you can see the details of the lines on my lips, which means that my lips are dried. You can see that the Lip Tar was way out of my natural lip line on both top and bottom of my lips, It smeared a bit.

Wearing lips stains are not as comfortable if you have a problem of dry lips, since it's nearly winter, out lips tends to get a little bit dry. It is not an easy product to use, so if you've just started out on make up I recommend you to start off with lips sticks if you would like to wear strong lip colors. But the OCC Lip  Tar could look amazing in photo shoots or on a special night out, if you pay attention and check your make up often, since I have to touched up twice throughout the day.

First Post!

Hello pretty people out there!

This is Ryosa and Vanessa.

We decided to create this beauty blog because we have taken a lot away from the beauty blogger community (namely looking at swatches and reviews before buying them) and now, we would like to give back.

We will be testing various beauty products in our jazz dance class (probably the most sweat inducing activity EVER) and let you guys know how they fare =]
